We have an easy day today with a trip to Basel, a large city set in Switzerland but close to both Germany and France.
 |
The city center is a short distance from the station but the trams are frequent and have free wi-fi. It is sometimes possible to see a heritage tram such as the one above. |
The center contains the gloriously red rathaus or town hall
 |
The Golden spire stands out well against the red decorated building |
There is a busy market in the rathaus square.
 |
An eclectic collection of wines and sausages |
We spent the rest of the day looking around and window shopping.
Tomorrow is a special day as our cousins Linda and Frances will be coming in from England to join us
