Virtual Railfan Tour UK - Tywyn Narrow Gauge Railway Museum

A Welsh quarry locomotive "Rough Pup". Couldn't have been much fun in bad weather. |
The Talyllyn Railway hosts the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum which is well worth a visit.
Even in 1961 exhibits were being acquired for the museum. The Cambrai is now on loan to the Irchester narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Wellingborough
"Russell" in 1961. This came from the Welsh Highland Railway and is now (in operation?) at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway in Portmadoc
This is one of my favorites -the Guinness Brewery locomotive that could be lifted into a truck to become a broad gauge locomotive.

There is a good selection of smaller, non-locomotive exhibits such as these Talyllyn Railway Edmondson card tickets |
A selection of different rail profiles
Interlocking frame and signalling instruments
A diminutive wagon turntable
"Dot" was formerly used at the LMS Crewe works narrow gauge railway.
The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum is well worth a visit. But when all is said and done the Talyllyn Railway is a proper working museum in itself. Here is Tal Y Llyn at Abergynolwyn.
A recent visit to the museum
