Virtual Railfan Tour of Ecuador 1993 - On to Quito
The regular train in the street at Alausi
After I posted the last blog I found some more pictures of the roof ride so I am posting these next.
The train was crowded

Riding the roof in the streets of Alausi.
The line further north was blocked by a land slide in a different location from my previous visit so again a bus was used to transport us across the gap.
This time we had a steam locomotive for the final leg of the trip.
It is amazing what you can see from an Ecuadoran train
We stopped at Urbina summit for a run past and photos
Our train was posed on the wye at Urbina so we had a good view of Chimborazo behind.
At our final runpast we had a large audience of local people
The ladies, in particular, had bright clothing
This is my final shot. People were more interested in us than the train.
