Virtual Railfan Tour of Argentina 2004 - Esquel at Last
As we approached Esquel the line ran closer to the mountains and we had the opportunity to see the train in the landscape
Esquel - the end of the line
The next day we went out with a train to enjoy an orgy of run pasts
A "glint" shot
On several run pasts the train went on a long way before returning to pick us up giving a good chance to see the small train in the vast countryside.
The snow capped Andes were always to the west. This is one of my favorite locations
It produced a picture which tells a lot about the small railway with its little trains operating in the vast lands of Patagonia.
The day we arrived in Esquel we had had a runpast just outside of town. One of our members lost his wallet there and this produced a train order for the next day which must be unequalled in the annuls of railway lore. I will tell you about this next time,
