Virtual Railfan Tour of Central America - Honduras
FCNdeH No. 9 was one of two 4-6-0s built by Baldwin in Feb 1915 (s/n 71420), It was put on display.
In 1997 Mary and I spent a month or so taking Spanish lessons at La Ceiba, Honduras where we learned how to conduct ourselves in Spanish when we encountered a large, upset anaconda on the beach.
The railway in this area was part of the Tela Railroad which was nationalized under the FC Nacional de Honduras but was largely derelict. I managed to get a look into the shops at La Ceiba
Overview of La Ceiba shops
It was pretty dark inside the well equipped shop. Must have been difficult working in there
A passenger car, not then used
Diesel locomotives - by GE?
Next we will visit Sambo Creek by rail
