Virtual Railfan Tour of Philippines Sugar Railways 1992 - On Victorias to Los Angeles
Today we continue on our trip around the Victorias system with steam locomotive No. 3
Others were enjoying, illegally, a ride on this beautifully painted track car No. 19
We came across No. 8. The tender is larger than the former tank locomotive,
There were several locomotives working the various loading points
Our special arrived at Los Angeles, a village with no road access. Everything here arrives or departs by rail,
There was a lot of animal powered traffic which we had to avoid
There was also some through railway traffic down the High Street
Our crew then told us they were taking a break for their lunch and would come back for us leaving us at a loose end in Los Angeles.
We found this bar in the main (only) street.
Not sure we were able to find any food but I was offered a bottle of genuine scotch for about CAD$3.00. It must have been genuine as it had an authentic label. Several of us drank about half the bottle and I was about to leave when I was stopped on my way out. It seems that I had only bought the scotch, not the bottle. So we all trooped back inside and finished off the scotch. As I was leaving I dutifully handed back my empty scotch bottle.
That afternoon we found some buffalo immersed in a river. We came to respect these animals a few days later
A bunch of kids were happily playing in the muddy water close to the buffalo.
