Travel from Olten to Montreux - Tuesday 3 September 2024

Views from the Niesenbahn Funicular taken by Paul
We left Olten early and took a train to Spiez, changing there for Mulenen. This is the lower level of the Niesenbahn funicular. The journey was a long one to the top. We had to change cars half way up because of the length. Unfortunately the clouds came down at the top and we decided to return to Spiez.
After lunch at the Migros Restaurant we caught a regular BLS train to Zweisimmen. Here there was a very quick transfer to the narrow gauge train to Montreux.

We checked into our hotel just in time to see this steamer coming in to dock.
